Who we are

AfterpayShopping.com is an independent, reader-first guide to using Afterpay in the United States — how Pay in 4 works, what it really costs when you're late, how spending limits grow, which stores accept it, and how it compares with Klarna, Affirm, PayPal and Zip.

The site is owned and operated by APS Digital Media LLC, a US-based digital publisher. We are not Afterpay, Cash App or Block, Inc., and we have no commercial relationship with them. Every store, brand and app named here is mentioned for identification only.

Looking for your Afterpay account, a payment or a refund? That is handled by Afterpay directly in the Afterpay or Cash App app, or at help.afterpay.com. We cannot see or change your Afterpay account.

Why this site exists

Buy-now-pay-later is one of the fastest-growing ways Americans pay — the CFPB counted 335.8 million BNPL loans in a single year — yet most of what ranks for "Afterpay" is either marketing or a thin rewrite of the terms page. Shoppers end up asking the same questions over and over: Will it hurt my credit? Why is my limit $100? What happens if I'm ten days late?

We built this site to answer those questions plainly, with the actual numbers from Afterpay's US Installment Agreement, and to be honest about where Pay in 4 stops being the right tool. When a cart is bigger than a six-week split can handle, we also show a personal-loan option ($200–$5,000) through our lending partners — clearly labelled, never disguised as Afterpay.

How we work

  1. Primary sources first

Fees, limits and timelines come from Afterpay's published US agreements and help center, then from regulators (CFPB, Federal Reserve) and named third-party reporting.

  2. Dated and re-checked

Every page shows its last review date. We re-check the core terms pages at least quarterly and whenever Afterpay announces a change.

  3. Independent of the brands we cover

Afterpay, Klarna, Affirm, PayPal and Zip do not pay us, review our copy or influence rankings. See the editorial policy.

  4. Clear about our own product

The only thing we promote is the personal-loan request form on /apply/. It is labelled as a partner offer everywhere it appears, with APR ranges and a representative example.

The team

AfterpayShopping.com is written and maintained by a small editorial team with backgrounds in consumer finance, retail and personal-finance journalism. We publish under a team byline rather than individual names; questions about any page can be sent to [email protected] and will reach the editor responsible.

Editorial

Researches and writes the guides, maintains the store and fee pages, and handles corrections.

Fact-checking

Verifies every figure against the source document before publication and at each review.

Compliance

Reviews lending-related copy for accuracy and required disclosures (APR, representative example, lender network).

How we make money

We do not charge readers and we do not sell subscriptions. The site earns revenue when a visitor submits a personal-loan request through our form and a lender in the network makes an offer. That compensation does not change the rate a lender offers you, and it does not influence what we write about Afterpay. Full details are in the advertiser disclosure.
