Privacy policy

What we collect when you read the site or submit a loan request, who it is shared with, and how to exercise your rights.

Updated November 8, 2026 4 min read Effective November 8, 2026

Scope

This policy explains how APS Digital Media LLC ("we", "us"), operator of https://afterpayshopping.com (the "Site"), collects, uses and shares information when you browse the Site or submit a personal-loan request through the form on /apply/. It does not cover the practices of Afterpay, Cash App, Block, Inc., any retailer, or any lender you are connected with — each has its own privacy policy.

Sample policy text. This page is a template for a US consumer-finance publisher and must be reviewed by counsel for your entity and the states you operate in before launch.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Loan request form — name, date of birth, address, email, phone, Social Security number, employment and income details, bank account information, loan amount requested, and your consent selections. This form is operated by our lending-network partner; the data is transmitted to them over an encrypted connection.
  • Contact — your name, email and the content of your message when you email us.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies described below.

How we use it

  • To transmit your loan request to lenders and lending partners so they can evaluate it and make offers.
  • To operate, secure and improve the Site, including measuring which pages are useful.
  • To respond to your messages and correction requests.
  • To send service messages about a request you submitted, and — only with your consent — marketing messages you can opt out of at any time.
  • To comply with law, enforce our terms, and prevent fraud.

How we share it

  • Lenders and lending partners. When you submit the form, your information is shared with a network of lenders, lending partners and service providers so they can decide whether to make an offer. They may obtain a consumer report (soft inquiry) and may retain your information under their own policies.
  • Service providers who host the Site, provide analytics, or send email on our behalf, under contracts limiting their use of the data.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena or to protect rights, property or safety.
  • Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing loan-request data with lenders in exchange for referral fees may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some state laws; see California residents for how to opt out.

Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to make the Site work and analytics cookies (for example, privacy-respecting page-view analytics) to understand which content helps readers. Our lending partner's form may set its own cookies to prevent fraud and remember your progress. You can block cookies in your browser; the Site will still work, though the form may not.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of sale/sharing where required by law.

Your choices & rights

  • Access, correct, delete. Email [email protected]. We verify requests by matching the details you provide with those on file and respond within 45 days.
  • Marketing. Unsubscribe links are in every marketing email; reply STOP to any marketing text.
  • Lenders. Once your request has been sent to a lender, contact that lender directly to exercise rights over the copy they hold.
  • Do not track. We treat browser GPC signals as an opt-out; we do not otherwise respond to Do Not Track headers.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; to opt out of its sale or sharing; to limit use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers; personal information under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.80 (name, address, SSN, bank details, employment); commercial information (loan amount requested); internet activity; geolocation (approximate); professional/employment information; inferences. Sensitive personal information (SSN, financial account details) is collected only through the loan form and used only to process your request.

To opt out of sale/sharing email [email protected] with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share", or call (800) 555-0147. You may use an authorized agent with written permission. Similar rights apply to residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with comprehensive privacy laws; we honor them the same way.

Security & retention

The Site and the form are served over HTTPS. Form data is encrypted in transit to our lending partner; we do not store SSNs or bank details on our own servers. Contact emails are retained for up to 24 months; analytics data is aggregated and retained for up to 26 months. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Site and the loan form are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
